Abhimanyu Easwaran is an Indian cricketer widely known as the right-handed opening batter who plays an anchor role in the team. He represents the Bengal team in the domestic circuit.

Abhimanyu Easwaran was born on Wednesday, 6 September 1995 (age 26 years; as of 2021) in Dehradun (Uttarakhand). His zodiac sign is Virgo. He moved to Kolkata at an age of ten to pursue his career in cricket where he was trained under the guidance of Nirmal Sengupta. In 2013, he made his first-class debut for Bengal in a Ranji Trophy. Soon, in February 2017, he made his Twenty20 debut against Tripura. After playing a few tournaments, in 2021, he was included in the national squad as a standby player against England and then the New Zealand team.

Career
He played his first major tournament for Bengal against Uttar Pradesh on 14 December 2013 in a Ranji Trophy game where he scored 10 and 27 runs in both innings and helped his side to win the match by eight wickets. Soon, he made his T20 debut against Tripura on 31 January 2017 where he scored 6 of 13 balls and helped his side to win a match by 5 runs under the captaincy of Manoj Tiwari. In October 2018, he was included in the India-A’s squad for the 2018-19 Deodhar Trophy. He did not get the chance to play in the first match but in the second match, he scored 69 runs off 103 balls on 25 October 2018 at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium (now Arun Jaitley Stadium) in New Delhi and help his side to post a total of 293 runs. India-A however, lost the match by 6 wickets. In 2018, he was named in the India-A’s squad for the 2018-19 Deodhar Trophy. He did not get the chance to play in the first match but in the second match, she scored 69 runs off 103 balls on 25 October 2018 at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium (now Arun Jaitley Stadium) in New Delhi. As a result, his side posed a score of 293 runs. Though, India-A lost the match by six wickets. On 25 May 2019, a match took place between India-A and Sri Lanka-A at Belagavi city in Karnataka where Abhimanyu scored valuable 233 runs and helped his side to beat Sri Lanka-A by inning and 205 runs. He was adjudged player of the match. In August 2019, for his performance in the 2019-20 Duleep Trophy where he scored 153 runs against India Green in the finals, he came to the radar of the national selectors. In October 2019, he was called to the India-A’s squad for the 2019-20 Deodhar Trophy where he only got to play only one match in which he scored 20 runs against India-B on 31 October 2o19. The same year, he played one more Ranji tournament from December 2019 to March 2020 and scored 258 runs from 17 innings with an average of 17.20. In January 2021, India’s test squad for the home series against England was announced where Abhimanyu was included as one of the five standby players. In May 2021, he was again called in India’s squad as one of the four standby players for the final of the 2019-2021 ICC World Test Championship and their away Series against England. Talking about the England series, he told,
“I was in the squad, in the reserves, for the [2020-21] England Tests too, and that was a great learning experience for me, just being there, spending time in the dressing room, watching everyone. I enjoyed my time there – how they prepare, just watching Virat Kohli‘s intensity at training was an education. There were things I hadn’t seen before – for example, Rohit Sharma saw the pitch and focused on his sweep shot, [R] Ashwin did the same… they were so clear about their plans. And though he isn’t in the main squad of 20 for the tour of England – plus the World Test Championship final against New Zealand – he wants to be as prepared as possible, because “you never know, just in case an opportunity comes up”
