Adesh Kumar Gupta is the President of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for Delhi. He succeeded the former Delhi BJP head, Manoj Tiwari.

Adesh Kumar Gupta was born on Wednesday, 26 January 1969 (aged 51 years; as in 2020) in Uttar Pradesh. After attaining Bachelor of Science degree from Uttar Pradesh, Adesh Kumar Gupta moved to Delhi in search of a job. When he was unable to find a job Adesh started giving tuitions to earn his daily bread. After teaching for 2 years Adesh started a product distributing business, however, it also didn’t work for him. Adesh then jumped back to the teaching profession, during this time, he also got himself registered at the PWD department. Thereafter, he started getting government and private contracts and consequently established a solid base in construction & maintenance business.

Political Career
During the days of doing business, Adesh developed an interest in politics and became an active member of student political party Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). He worked as ABVP state minister of Uttar Pradesh in the year 1994-95. Adesh Kumar is the incumbent councillor of West Patel Nagar (Ward No. 98) in the North Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), and former mayor of North Delhi on the ticket on Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). On 2nd June 2020, BJP appointed him as the chief of Delhi, replacing earlier BJP head, Manoj Tiwari.
Controversies
On 7th June 2020, Adesh Kumar Gupta accompanied by some members of BJP was publicly protesting against the Delhi government in the wake of its decision to reserve Delhi government & Private hospitals only for the residents of Delhi. Adesh Kumar Gupta was found violating the lockdown & social distancing norms, subsequently, the Delhi police detained him, however, he was released later. [1]

- Adesh Gupta was lodged in a temporary jail in Kanpur in the year 1991-92 for taking an active role in the Ram temple construction movement.
