Ajay Pal Sharma was born on Saturday, 26 October 1985 (age 35 years; as of 2020) in Ludhiana, Punjab. His zodiac sign is Scorpio. He did his schooling from Ludhiana, Punjab. Ajay then pursued BDS in Dental Sciences from the Government Medical College, Patiala, Punjab. He was a dentist for a few years. In November 2008, he decided to quit being a dentist and try for civil services. He wanted to serve the nation in a way which would benefit even more people.

Since his childhood, he wanted to serve his country its the people. He felt that being a doctor was just not enough, and he wanted to do something which would help more people. Hence, he decided to prepare for the civil services exam. He relocated to Chandigarh, and he took admission in a coaching class. However, he found the coaching to be of no use, and he returned to his home; where he did self-study to clear his examination. In 2009, he made his first attempt in the UPSC examination. Ajay cleared the mains exam but couldn’t clear the final round, i.e, the interview/Personality Test round. In the same year, he again appeared for the exam and secured an AIR (All India Rank) 160. In 2011, after completing his training, he became an IPS officer.

Career
Ajay Pal Sharma has been posted in several places such as Shamli, Hathras, Ghaziabad, Noida, and Rampur. He has been determined to make the police working more efficient. He is determined to make the police working more efficient. He often conducts surprise checks on police stations and police officers on duty to see if they are correctly doing their work. In 2015, Ajay got his first senior rank posting as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Noida. He made it a goal to make the police force more efficient. He also used to meet the people of his area, and he would interact with them, and let them know who he was and that they can approach him anytime. Reportedly, he used to meet more than 200 people every day. Sharma often disguised himself and travelled around the city and to the outskirts, to see whether the police was doing its duty or not. He usually calls task forces at the middle of the night to issue directives. Reportedly, he does not keep meetings during the day; as he does not want to interrupt the day to day work.

Ajay has also introduced a grading system for police officers. He has issued a directive that if the officers don’t perform well, they will be suspended. He is running it as a pilot project, and he wants to implement this across India. In 2018, he was awarded by the Uttar Pradesh CM, Yogi Adityanath for his exemplary work in reducing the number of criminal gangs in UP.

Controversy
The Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Department found some phone recordings showing Ajay discussing his postings and transfers in September 2020. He also mentioned Dipti Sharma during one of these phone calls. Later, Dipti claimed to have married Ajay in Ghaziabad in 2016 and claimed to be his wife. Moreover, Dipti claimed that Ajay physically and sexually abused her and that he tried to erase evidence of their marriage, but all these allegations were refuted by Ajay Pal. [1]
