Career Path
He was started his career as an assistant director in Yash Raj Film and worked in some movies like Hrithik Roshan movie Lakshya in 2004.
As a assistant he worked in multiple projects in bollywood films such as “Badmaash Company” and “Jhoom Barabar Jhoom” in 2007.
When his skill was improved he turns to director and directed first hit movie Mere Brother Ki Dulhan in 2011 with starred Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif.
In 2014 his next action and thriller movie Gunday with starring Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, in which Irrfan Khan played a role as a police officer.
He become so much popular when he directed the film Sultan with famous stars Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma due to stars movie become highest grossing film in sports.
Then he continued his work with Salman Khan and directed hit movies at box-office including Tiger Zinda Hai, Ek Tha Tiger and Bharat.

Controversy
He was indulged in controversy due to hurting religious sentiments in wed series Tandav and an FIR was lodge against filmmaker of Tandav means Zafar with charges promoting enmity between various religions community. On 23 January 2021, a new criminal complaint was registered by the Hindu Sena, BJP party members. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath also had anger on him due to hurting Hindu religious sentiments.

Ali Abbas Zafar was born in Dehradun Uttarakhand on 17 January 1982 in Muslim Family and he rose up in same town with his elder brother and completed his education from University of Delhi Kirori Mal College.
Moreover both of the brothers studied together till high school.
Since his childhood he has huge crush towards movies and he spent lots of time to watching movies with brother.
Due to his interest in films he also participated in drama function in his college though his skills were improved by some experts.
Later when his college degree was completed, he was moved in dream city Mumbai to make his career in film industry.
In January 2021 he got married privately with his girlfriend Alicia Zafar in his residence Dehradun.
