He has appeared in films such as Loafer, Saajan Chale Sasural, and Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye, Rab ne Bana Di Jodi as a cameo actor. While sharing his experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan he said

He is a very supportive co-star. Even during Dil Toh Pagal Hai, he would make sure all his co-stars were at ease and are doing their best. If we would struggle at any step or anything he would walk up to us and take us to a corner and talk to us. He would guide us and say let me know what suits you, I will do the step according to you. I will change to suit and be in sync with the entire group and that’s why he is Shah Rukh Khan today. His thinking is that his co-stars should also look good. That is why he is so successful. This is the quality that I’ve learnt from him and I try to implement at my level also

Balvinder started working with Indian Television Channel SAB TV and has made his debut in the serial Mr N Mrs Sharma Allahbadwale. In 2020, he replaced Gurcharan Singh who was playing the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi in Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. In an interview Balvinder said

Popular is a small word. It is an iconic show. After Ramayan and Mahabharat, it is Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on TV. It is for me present day’s mythology. It feels great to be a part of it and it is once in a lifetime opportunity to bag a role like this and be a part of the longest running sitcom. The feeling is still sinking in. I’ve been acting since last so many years. I did a college show called Campus in 1995.

An Instagram post by Balvinder Singh Suri

  • Reportedly, Balvinder Singh Suri was suggested by Gurcharan Singh himself for replacing him in the show. In an interview, Gurcharan said,

I had met the one who replaced me before (Laad Singh) and told him that he should do it well as he has got a very plum assignment. I remember meeting him in a Gurdwara in Mumbai (Andheri, Four Bunglows). The other Sodhi (Balwinder Singh Suri) was in a way recommended by me; he used to work in our show in the Creative team and I suggested that he will do it aptly. Frankly, I haven’t seen much of the second one to give you an assessment. But I think there are several people who still want me back
