Chiranjeevi Sarja was an Indian film actor who appeared in many Kannada films. On 7 June 2020, he died of a cardiac arrest in Bangalore.

Chiranjeevi Sarja was famous as Chiru. He was born on Friday, 17 October 1980 (age 39 years; at the time of death), in Bangalore, Karnataka. His zodiac sign is Libra. He did his schooling from Baldwin Boys High School, Bangalore. He attended Vijaya College, Bangalore to complete his graduation. [1]

On 22 October 2017, he got engaged to his long time girlfriend, Meghana Raj who is a South Indian actress. On 30 April 2018, he got married to Meghana in a Christian style wedding at St Anthony’s Church in Koramangala, Bangalore.

His wife was pregnant with his child at the time of his death.

Career

Before making his career in acting, he worked as an assistant director with his uncle, Arjun Sarja for almost four years. In 2009, he debuted in the romantic Kannada film, ‘Vayuputra,’ in which he played the role of Balu. He won Innovative Film Award for Best Debut (Male) for this film. Later, he appeared in various South Indian films, like ‘Gandedhe’ (2010), ‘Kempegowda’ (2011), ‘Ajith’ (2014), ‘Amma I Love You’ (2018), and ‘Sinnga’ (2019).

 

Death

On 7 June 2020, a severe pain started in his chest, and while talking to his father on phone at around 1.10 pm on the same day, he collapsed. He was immediately rushed to the Apollo Hospital in Jayanagar and was declared dead by the doctors. His last rites were conducted on 8 June 2020.

On his demise, the chief minister of Karnataka, B. S. Yediyurappa said,

Kannada film industry has lost a good actor.”

The former chief minister of Karnataka, H. D. Kumaraswamy tweeted,

He was a shining star in the galaxy of artists. It’s disappointing that he died at a young age.”
