On 16 May 1979, she got married to the veteran Indian cricketer Syed Kirmani. It was an arranged marriage, and the duo met each for the first time at Habiba’s cousin’s birthday party.
The couple has two daughters and one son. Their elder daughter Nishad (Nishath) Fathima is a social worker. Their younger daughter’s name is Mehnaz Fathima. Their son, Sadiq Ali, is a cricketer.
Career
Habiba is an active philanthropist. She has been associated with various social activities and is working for women empowerment along with her husband Syed Kirmani. During an interview, while talking about a donation event, she said,
We are yet to decide on the investment of this fund but we have decided to donate 25% (about Rs. 6 lacs) of this amount to the needy people of the country. We have been doing charity work and helping poor people, especially those who have no money to go to schools and colleges. We always believe that every family should have at least one educated person and the donation will be utilized for girls education in the poor houses.”
