Biography/Wiki

Jim Sarbh was born on 27 August 1987 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He received lots of appreciation from the audience for his performance in the film Neerja (2016), starring Sonam Kapoor. He won several awards for this film such as International Indian Film Academy Award for Best Actor In Negative Role, Screen Award for Best Male Debut, Stardust Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role, and Zee Cine Awards for Best Actor in a Negative Role & Best Male Debutant. Jim also works as a stage performer and performed in numerous plays like The Merchant of Venice, The Living Room, What is Done, is Done, etc.

Physical Appearance

He is a handsome guy who is approximately 5’9” tall and weighs around 65 kg. He has dark brown eyes and black hair.

Family, Caste & Girlfriend

He belongs to a middle-class Parsi family. His father used to work as Master Mariner and after few years, he became the Regional Director of the P&O Ports South and Middle East Asia. His mother is a Physiotherapist.

He was dating the actress Kalki Koechlin, but the relationship ended within two years.

Career

Jim did his schooling at American School of Bombay, Mumbai and completed his degree in Psychology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. After completing studies, he joined the Atlanta-based theater company Alliance Theatre where he worked as a literary intern for almost a year and performed at various stages in plays like Ice Glen, The Breakup, The Show!, and Tennis in Nablus for which he received the Major Supporting Role Metropolitan Atlanta Theatre Award. In 2012, he came back to Mumbai and started working as a theatre artist. He did numerous plays like Death of a Salesman, Ok Tata Bye Bye, Gates to India Song, Limbo, Cock, The Glass Menagerie, Noises Off, Eat!, Bull, etc.

In 2016, he made his Bollywood debut with the film Ajeeb Aashiq. The film was screened on 2 February 2016 at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. In the same year, he acted in three more feature films like Neerja, Yashodhara, and 3 ½ Takes. He also acted in some short films like Akshat Verma’s Mama’s Boys and Gouri Dutt’s Like Summer Like Rain.
