She was born in well-educated family in Kodagu, Karnataka on 16th February 1985 and later she was shifted in Mysore with her family.
She was completed her schooling from St. Joseph’s Central School, Mysore. And during her school days, she participated in adventurous sports and she grabbed more than 3 gold medals in Sailing (sport game) at the sailing competition at Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) and Chilka Lake (Orissa).
And for higher education she was enrolled in Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore but she drops her college study in 2nd year of Civil Engineering due to her interest was developed in Modeling.
Along with her sports activities, Nidhi Subbaiah also joined Naval NCC as a cadet and interestingly, she won the best cadet award in 2004 for her great performance in the NCC.

Career Path
After dropping her college study, she started to approach a modeling agency, and she gained some modeling projects and did various walked ramp for fashion designers and one of the projects was done with big brand TVC’s fairness cream ‘Fair & Lovely’.
And after she received some fame in the industry, she starts getting offered from the Kannada film industry. She made her debut Kannada film Abhimaani in 2009, which couldn’t commercially successful.
She got fame and popularity through Kannada movies like Pancharangi (2010) and Krishnan Marriage Story (2011). Due to which she earned South Filmfare Awards.
In 2012, she grabbed the chance to entered in Bollywood industry and she acted with famous actor Akshay Kumar in the Hindi film Oh My God! In which she played the role of Shweta Tiwari.
Then she acted in few other Bollywood films such as ‘Ajab Gazabb Love’ (2012), Direct Ishq (2016) and Love Shagun (2016).
In 2021, she participated in the reality show Bigg Boss Kannada 8 as a contestant. And she grabbed the chance to meet several famous contestants like Dhanushree, Vaishnavi Gowda, Geetha Bharathi Bhat, Divya Uruduga.
