After completing her formal education, she started working as a receptionist at New Line Cinema, New York. Later, she got promoted to the position of assistant to the head of ‘Picture House’ (New Line Cinema’s indie company). Phoebe Robinson worked as a screenwriter for the television series Portlandia (2011) and Girl Code (2013). In 2012, she began her blog-cum-podcast Blaria, meanwhile, creating online content for Glamour. In 2015, she emerged as a comedian and appeared in the comedy shows like Last Comic Standing, and Broad City. In 2016, she worked as a consultant for the third season of the American television sitcom ‘Broad City.’ She has also authored the books You Can’t Touch My Hair: And Other Things I Still Have to Explain (2016) and Everything’s Trash, But It’s Okay (2018), which feature a collection of essays about race, gender, and pop culture.
