Sharad Malhotra is an Indian television actor. He shot to fame by playing the role of “Sagar Pratap Singh,” a mentally challenged person, in Zee TV’s show ‘Banoo Main Teri Dulhann.’

Sharad Malhotra was born into a middle-class family on 9 January 1983 (age 36 years; as in 2019) in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He attended St. Xavier’s Collegiate School, Kolkata to pursue his B.Com (Hons). He was fascinated with modelling since he was a child. At the age of 20, Sharad won the “Face of the Year- Kolkata” competition.

Career
Sharad started his career with the TV serial “Princess Dollie Aur Uska Magic Bag” in which he played the role of ‘Prince Goldy.’ After doing his first serial, he took a break of 4 months and went to New York Film Academy, Los Angeles to acquire acting skills. In 2006, he made a cameo in “Kabhie To Nazar Milao.” In the same year, he bagged the role of “Sagar Pratap Singh,” a mentally upset person, in the TV serial “Banoo Main Teri Dulhann.” His character was much liked by the audience and he became a household name after this.
Next, he auditioned for the role of “Maharana Pratap” in the historical show “Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap.” Sharad gave the auditions 5 times before being chosen for the role. He even learned martial arts and horse riding after being selected for the serial.

In 2016, he played a dual role in the Colors TV’s “Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki.”
In 2012, he made a debut in Bollywood with the film “From Sydney with Love.”
He has also been a part of “Kolkata Baabu Moshayes” team in the MTV Box Cricket League.

Controversy
In May 2018, when Sharad Malhotra ended a 2-year long relationship with his then-girlfriend, Pooja Bisht, she accused him of cheating on her. The actress also said that Sharad has ended the relationship at the behest of his mother and the astrologer.
