Shoaib was born on 20 June 1987 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. During his young age, his father wanted him to be a singer and his mother wanted him to be an actor. He later chose acting as his career and got fame after playing the role of Prem Bharadwaj in the TV serial Sasural Simar Ka (2011-2013).

He got married to actress Dipika Kakar on 22 February 2018. This is the second marriage of his wife who was previously divorced from a flight attendant Raunak Samson in 2012.

Career
He did his schooling at Hills Public School, Bhopal and did his bachelor degree in Computer Science Engineering (CSE). After completing studies, he joined the entertainment industry. He got his first break as an actor in 2009 in the TV serial Rehna Hai Teri Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein, in which he played the role of Karan. In 2011, he got his first lead role in the TV serial Sasural Simar Ka as Prem Bhardwaj, opposite Dipika Kakar.
In 2017, he along with his dance partner Dipika Kakar participated in the dance reality show Nach Baliye Season 8 and was among the top 4 finalists.
