Shrikant Nahata is an Indian producer and director who works mainly in Hindi films. He is famous for being the husband of the veteran Indian actress Jaya Prada.

His father, Late Sunderlal Nahata, was a Hindi film producer. His mother’s name is Dhanalakshmi Nahata.

On 22 February 1989, he got married to the veteran Indian actress & politician Jaya Prada.
At that time he was already married to Chandra Nahata and did not divorce her before getting married for the second time. Even after his marriage with Jaya, he had a child with his first wife. Shrikant and Chandra have three children together, and one of her daughters’ name is Samyukta Kanwar.
Shrikant never wanted to have a child with Jaya, and a few years later, Jaya adopted her sister’s son Sidhhu. Later, due to troubled married life with Jaya, the couple got separated. [1]

Career
He has worked as a producer in various Hindi films including ‘Agent Gopi’ (1978), ‘Haisiyat’ (1984), ‘Wafadaar’ (1985), and ‘Sikka’ (1989). He directed the Hindi film ‘Guru’ in 1989 starring veteran Indian actors like Mithun Chakraborty, Sridevi, and Shakti Kapoor.
Facts/Trivia
- In an interview, Jaya shared that before marriage, Nahata was madly in love with her and used to wait for hours at the airport to receive her when she returned from another city. She further said,
At a time when my career was at its peak, I faced certain problems related to income tax. Srikant Nahata stood by me during these tough times. He supported me, brought a smile to my face, and was a real friend. Srikant was already married but, slowly, love blossomed. We tied the knot on February 22, 1989.”
