Simran Singh who was born as Prabhsimran Singh is an Indian cricketer who represented the India U-19 team during the 2019 U-19 Asia Cup, and the domestic team of Punjab in several domestic tournaments. In 2018, Prabhsimran Singh was bought by the Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 4.8 crores.


Simran Singh was born on Thursday, 10 August 2000 (age 20 years; as of 2020) in Patiala, Punjab. His zodiac sign is Leo. Simran started playing cricket when he was in school. He used to practice with his cousin brother and cricketer Anmolpreet Singh at a club in Patiala. They would often bunk their classes to practice. Simran has played in several domestic leagues for the Punjab team.

Simran started playing cricket when he was in school; however, his family was sceptical about his decision of choosing cricket as a profession. However, Simran pursued his dream of becoming a cricketer as he grew up watching Virender Sehwag and Adam Gilchrist play the game. Simran Singh made his List A debut in the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup on 7 December 2018. Simran played for India Emerging Team, and the match was against Afghanistan Emerging Team. The same month he was bought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 4.8 crores for the 2019 Indian Premier League. He made his Twenty20 debut in the 2018-2019 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Punjab in February 2019.


  • Simran plays at the position of a batsman and wicket-keeper for the teams he play for. He was inspired by Adam Gilchrist, and he decided to play as a wicket-keeper.

  • Simran grabbed attention from the player selection committee of the IPL when he scored 298 runs in 301 balls while playing for Punjab in a U-23 district match. Prabhsimran also helped the India U-19 team to win the 2019 U-19 Asia Cup.
  • Simran Singh impressed the player selection committee with his aggressive but mature batting style. On 10 October 2020, Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to appreciate Simran’s performance.
