Suresh Chandra Menon is an Indian actor, cinematographer, and film director of Tamil and Malayalam language films.
Suresh Chandra Menon was born on Thursday, 24 October 1957 (age 64 years; as of 2022) in Ponnani, Kerala, India. He did his schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Chennai. In 1977, Suresh graduated from a private institution, Loyola College, Chennai.

Suresh Chandra Menon met the Indian actress Revathi Asha Kelunni in 1986 while they were shooting for the Tamil film ‘Marumagal.’ Soon, they became friends and fell in love with each other. In 1986, the couple tied the knot in a private ceremony. They did not have any children.
Despite being a happily married couple, some differences arose between them, and they started living separately in 2002. They got divorced in a family court in Chennai on 22 April 2013. After their divorce, Revathi said in an interview that they would remain good friends for the rest of their life.
Suresh Chandra Menon started his career as a photographer and a cinematographer at the age of 17. He started working as a cinematographer’s assistant with no training. He further worked with different famous cinematographers, namely K S Prakash, Williams, and Bala Krishnan. Apart from acting, Suresh attempted other areas of the film process as a director, producer, and executive producer. He worked as an executive producer of some Hindi films, namely Chup Chup Ke, Malaamal Weekly, and Phir Milenge. He was a producer of Tamil language TV serials like Chinna Chinna Asai, Doctors, and Nirangal. He has also worked on documentaries for the National Geographic Channel. Suresh Menon once stated that,
I strongly believe in commercial cinema. It is people’s relief from the stress of daily lives. They don’t go to look at brilliant acting, direction or lighting; they watch a film to be entertained.”
His acting debut was with the Tamil film ‘Pudhiya Mugam’ (1993). He directed this movie and played the main role of Major Shiva in it. His wife, Revathi Asha Kelunni was his co-star in this movie. This movie was a great success.
In 1994, he directed a Tamil romantic drama film named Paasamalargal. After that, he took a long gap in acting. In 2017, he acted in an experimental anthology film named Solo.
Later, he starred in the movie Thaanaa Serndha Koottam in 2018. In the same year, Suresh worked with a renowned Tamil language film producer, Vijay Sethupathi, in the movie Junga. He acted in the movie Lucifer and Kaalidas in 2019. In 2021, he appeared as Vikram in a Tamil Language horror comedy film named Annabelle Sethupathi. In the same year, he acted in a Tamil language action thriller film named Pon Manickavel. Suresh is portrayed as a businessperson in a Telugu language action-drama film Akhanda in 2021. In 2022, he acted in a Tamil language comic science fiction movie named Koogle Kuttappa. Suresh got starred in his recent Tamil language drama movie named Achcham Madam Naanam Payirppu in 2022.
He has directed various advertisements, commercials, short films, big-screen films, and documentaries. Suresh is known for his movies Paasamalargal (1994), Pudhiya Mugan (1993), and Vepraalam (1984).
Suresh Chandra Menon worked in various television series. In 1997, he appeared in a Tamil language family drama television show named Doctors on Sun TV entertainment channel. In 2021, he acted in the TV serial Rajamannar Vagaiyara which was broadcasted on the Polimer TV channel. Suresh is playing the role of Dr. Krishna in a Tamil language family drama television series named Meera – Oru Puthu Kavithai.
Suresh Chandra Menon has set up two restaurants, namely Crimson Chakra and Azzuri Bay in Chennai in 2010 and 2011 simultaneously.
In 2009, he has also set up a double-decker houseboat in the backwaters of Kerala in Alleppey. He stated it was an enjoyable experience living on the houseboat.
