Career

Vandana began acting in Gujarati commercials and theatre while she was studying in college. She described her journey from performing in plays to being cast in a Hindi television serial in an interview. She quoted,

Yes, I used to always think how these artist are doing this serials.Even I wish to enter.but never had any influence or contacts.Then one fine day my co artist told me about the audition going on in Rashmi Sharma production. First I said I will not go straight there for audition.if I get email I’d will post my bio-data and pics.if they like they will call and I will go for audition.Next day other friend suddenly gave me mail id it was like wow so fast as I had not told anybody about it. Sent my bio-data.they called me for audition.And journey began as Urmila Shah.”

She has appeared in many popular Hindi television shows including Sasural Simar Ka (2017), Kaal Bhairav Rahasya 2 (2018), Muskaan (2019), and Hamari Bahu Silk (2019).

She is also known for her work in the television shows Pandya Store (2021), Tera Mera Saath Rahe (2021), and Shubh Shagun (2022). In an interview, she talked about managing her busy schedule and said,

Apart from Shubh Shagun, I am part of Pandya Store and Tera Mera Saath Rahe. As I am doing character roles in these shows, I am not shooting throughout for them. So I could manage to take up a third show.”

She further added,

Yes there are a few times when it gets difficult to work on three shows, but I absolutely enjoy the process. There are days when I shoot for two shows on one day. The travel can get taxing because it is time-consuming, but apart from that, I have no complaints. I even manage to find time for my family and I cook for them on my day offs.”

Her hobbies include shopping, travelling, and listening to music.

She wanted to pursue a career in the Hospitality sector since she was a child. Her family values, however, did not allow her to follow her goal. She then moved on to her second passion, acting.

In 2012, she appeared alongside Aamir Khan in the Hindi television show- Naye Soch Ki Taalash Aamir Ke Saath.

Vandana revealed in an interview in 2019 that the COVID-19 outbreak caused her financial hardship because the producer of the show ‘Hamari Bahu Silk’ failed to pay her dues. She further quoted,

I have started making rakhis and selling them online to keep myself engaged and also make some money. I had shot from May to October 2019, but have been paid only for the month of May. My dues run into lakhs of rupees. It’s been more than a year without any payment and I have exhausted all my savings.”
Vandana is an avid dog lover and has a pet dog named Lucy.
