Some Lesser Known Facts About Yash Dasgupta
- Due to his father’s frequent transfers, he did his schooling in different places including Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and Sikkim.
- Yash’s mother was diagnosed with cancer when he was in class 12. He had to halt his studies for some time due to her treatment.
- He completed his graduation in Madhya Pradesh. After completing his graduation, he took acting workshops in Roshan Taneja School of Acting and also learned dance from Shiamak Davar‘s dance institute.
- Since his childhood, he was passionate about acting. He paid more attention to extracurricular activities (such as plays) than studies. He participated in plays without caring much about the role assigned to him and enjoyed being on stage. That’s how he realised his passion for acting.
- Yash Dasgupta began his career as a model and appeared in many television and print advertisements. In 2006, he won the Glam King title in the Unish Kuri Streax Glam Hunt held in Kolkata.
- Yash had gone to his maternal aunt’s home in Kolkata for holidays when his aunt registered his name for the Unish Kuri Streax Glam Hunt Contest. Yash participated but got rejected in the preliminary round of the contest. When he was about to leave Kolkata, he got a call from Anand Bazaar Patrika and they told him that he was selected in the contest.
- Before establishing himself as an actor in Hindi Television, Yash had to go through many struggles. It was during those struggling times that he had to take the job of a gym manager.

- While Yash was in Mumbai, he got a call from Star TV for the role of ‘Lord Rama’ in the serial ‘Seeta.’ From Star TV’s office, he exchanged numbers with Poonam, who was a casting director for Venkatesh Films. Yash was selected for the role of ‘Rama’ but later was chosen for another role of ‘Aranya’ from the serial “Bojhena Se Bojhena.”
- While working in the serial “Bojhena Se Bojhena,” Yash added an extra ‘h’ to his name, according to numerology. However, he found that there were many fake profiles building with his name on social media. Therefore, he decided to go with the initial spelling of his name.
