Asha Bhat is an Indian model, actress and engineer. She is the first Indian women to have won the title of “Miss Supranational” in 2014.

Asha Bhat was born on 5 September 1992 (age 26 years; as in 2018) in Bhadravati, Shimoga, Karnataka. Her zodiac sign is Virgo.

She attended Bhadravati’s Charles School. She was good in studies and was a student of Prime Academy, an IIT Jee coaching institute in Pune. Thereafter, she enrolled herself in Alva Pre-University College, Moodbidri to pursue her pre-university education. She was a member of the college’s NCC team and was selected to participate in the Republic Day’s Camp. At the age of 17, Asha was sent to Sri Lanka as the NCC-Cadet ambassador of India and was felicitated at SAARC in 2009. This gave her a lot of exposure and her parents motivated her to participate in other contests as well.

Later, she went to R. V. College of Engineering, Bengaluru, to pursue her graduation in Electronic Engineering. Bhat is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer. She has taken training in classical dance for 14 years.

Career

Asha Bhat started her modelling career in 2014 by participating in the “Miss Diva” contest organised by the Times Group and emerged as the second runner up of the contest. She also won three special awards at Miss Diva 2014 namely ‘Miss Congeniality,’ ‘Miss Beautiful Smile,’ and ‘Miss Fascinating.’ Bhat, then, represented India at “Miss Supranational 2014” in Poland and was eventually crowned the winner of the contest on 5 December 2014. She became the first Indian women to have crowned ‘Miss Supranational.’ Asha also won the title of ‘Miss Talented’ at the pageant.

Thereafter, she went on to judge various beauty pageants including “Miss Grand Thailand,” “Miss Golden Land Myanmar 2015,” “Miss Hungary 2015,” and “Miss China Landscape 2015.”

She has featured in the TV commercials of numerous brands including “Close-Up,” “Yamaha Motor Company,” “Femina,” and “Forever Mark.”

Apart from being a model, she is also a social activist and runs an NGO named “The Astra Foundation.”

In 2019, she made her acting debut with the Bollywood film “Junglee” in which she played the role of ‘Meera,’ a fearless journalist.
