Molly Ringwald or Molly Kathleen Ringwald is an American who is a renowned actress, dancer, singer, and author. Her first major role was seen in the NBC sitcom titled The Facts of Life, which aired from 1979 to 1980. She was spotted by a casting director while she was playing the role of an orphan in a stage production of the musical titled Annie.  When the show was reworked, Molly was let go, along with other members of the original Facts of the Lifecast. In the year 1982, Molly made her motion-picture debut, in the independent film titled Tempest, where she appeared as Miranda. She even earned a Golden Globe nomination for New Star of the Year.

Molly is mostly known for collaborations with John Hughes, who is a filmmaker. In the year 1984, she established herself as a teen icon, after appearing in Sixteen Candles, which was a successful Hughes film. Later, she was seen in The Breakfast Club, in the year 1985, and Pretty in Pink, in the year 1986. She was also seen starring in The Pick-up Artist, which appeared in the year 1987, Fresh Horses, which came up in the year 1988, and For Keeps, which appeared in 1988. She was also a cast of many films that appeared in the 1990s and the most notable ones are Something to Live for: The Alison Gertz Story, which appeared in 1992, The Stand which appeared in 1994, and Some Folks Call It a Sling Blade, which was a short film and appeared in 1994 as a precursor to Sling Blade.

Molly was also associated with the “Brat Pack”. She was ranked number one on VH1’s 100 Greatest Teen Stars. Molly is also seen on The CW television series Riverdale since 2017, and she appeared as Mary Andrews.
