Shawn Johnson or Shawn Johnson East or Shawn Machel Johnson is an American who is a former artistic gymnast. She is popularly known for winning the gold medal in the balance beam event at the 2008 Summer Olympics and silver medals in team, all-around, and floor exercise events.
She is also popularly known for being the all-around World Champion in the year 2007 and for winning the gold medals at the Pan American Games five times in her career. She is also the winner of a popular dance television reality show titled Dancing with the Stars Season 8 in the year 2009.
