She went to the Gunn High School in Palo Alto, California, where she was regularly engaged in writing for the school newspaper. She opted for humanities major in her college and received her first computer science class when she was already a senior. Wojcicki then joined Harvard University and studied history and literature there. She completed her graduation with honors in 1990.
Wojcicki initially planned to go for a Ph.D. in economics and then pursue a career in academics but later changed her plans as soon as she discovered an interest in technology. This made her decide to opt for a Master’s of Science in Economics, which she completed from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1993. Next, she went for a Master of Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management in 1998.
