The Capricorn model was born on 4 January 1991 (age 30 years; as of 2021) in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. [1] Since his childhood, he wanted to do something related to fashion.

At the age of 22, he moved from Noida to Mumbai to pursue a career in modelling.

Over the years, he has done ramp walks for many renowned fashion designers, including Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

He made his first acting appearance in Shilpa Shetty’s Amazon Prime Series Hear Me Love Me (2018).

Rohman was born into a middle-class Sunni-Muslim family with roots in Jammu & Kashmir. Not much is known about his family apart from the fact that his father’s name is Riyaz Shawl and his sister’s name is Nadia Shawl.

He first met Sushmita Sen at Neeta Lulla’s fashion show in Mumbai. Putting behind the age gap of around 15 years, it was Rohman who first approached her and after dating her for a couple of months, he proposed to Sushmita, which she accepted. The couple made their first public appearance together at Shilpa Shetty’s Diwali bash held in Mumbai.

According to Sushmita Sen, she met Rohman through a message on Instagram, which she had accidentally opened. Sushmita was surprised by his sweet and nice mannerism. In an interview, Sen revealed that Rohman initially hid his age from her. Sen said,

Initially, he kept hiding his age for some reason. I would keep asking him, ‘So, how old are you? You look so young.’ And he would be like, ‘You guess!’ Later, once I realised how young he was, as to why he didn’t want that to get in the way of this conversation. So yeah, we did not really choose this, it was chosen for us. It was destined.” [2]
