Soundarya Rajinikanth was born on 20 September 1984 (age 34; as in 2018) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She went to Ashram Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Velachery, Chennai which is run by her mother. She is a graduate in Graphic Designing.

Soundarya Rajinikanth is the daughter of the superstar, Rajinikanth who is a Maharashtrian whereas her mother, Latha Rangachari, producer, and singer by profession, is a Tamilian.
She is the younger sister of Aishwarya R. Dhanush, who is a film director.
Dhanush, the Tollywood superstar is her brother-in-law.
On 3 September 2010, she got married to Ashwin Ramkumar who is an industrialist. However, the marriage did not work out and they got divorced in July 2017.
Soundarya and Ashwin have a son, Ved Krishna. He was born on 6 May 2015.
On 11 February 2019, she tied the knot with Vishagan Vanangamudi at The Leela Palace, Chennai. He is an actor and also runs a pharmaceutical company, Apex Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. in Chennai.
Career
Soundarya started working as a graphic designer in the Tamil film industry. In 1999, she marked her debut by designing the title of the film, “Padayappa.”
She planned and sketched the title series of numerous Tamil films like “Baba” (2001), “Chandramukhi” (2005), and “Sivaji” (2007). She owns a production house named Ocher Picture Productions. In 2007, Ocher Picture Productions and Warner Bros Entertainment Inc had a tie-up and started producing and distributing Tamil films. In 2010, she produced a Tamil film, “Goa.” under her production house.
She was ready to debut as a director with a 3D animated film, “Sultan: The Warrior,” featuring Rajinikanth. However, the idea for this movie was dropped. Then in 2014, she made her directorial debut with the Tamil film, “Kochadaiiyaan,” in which Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone played the lead roles. Soundarya made a cameo role in the song “Engae Pogudho Vaanam” of this film. She is the first Indian woman to direct her father in a feature film.
