Sriti Jha was born on 26 February 1986 (32 years old; age as in 2018)in Darbhanga, Bihar, India. She has so many nicknames given by her family members and industry friends like Jhalli, Titu, Fuggi, Chashmish, Lady Mogambo, Hawa Hawaai, etc. She is a fine poet and wrote few dialogues for some popular TV shows like Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava and Balika Vadhu.

Sriti did her schooling from Modern Indian School, Kathmandu and Laxman Public School, Delhi. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Sri Venkateswara College, New Delhi. During her college days, she joined the Verbum, an English dramatics society in Delhi in 2004 and after few years, she became the president of this society. She got her first lead role in a Verbum play Ritual In Blood and won the Best Actor award in Delhi University dramatics circuit for her performance.

In 2007, she made her first on-screen appearance as an actress with the TV serial Dhoom Machaao Dhoom in which she played the role of Malini Sharma. She won numerous awards for his role of Pragya Arora Mehra in the TV serial Kumkum Bhagya such as Zee Rishtey Awards for Popular Face Female, Favourite Beti, Favourite Pati-Patni with Shabbir Ahluwalia, Favourite Bahu, Favourite Popular Character Female, Favourite Jodi with Shabbir Ahluwalia; Indian Telly Awards for Best Actress in Lead Role, Best Jodi on TV with Shabbir Ahluwalia; Zee Gold Award for Face of the year; etc.
