She was born in well-stable family in Portsmouth, England on 13 March 1984.
Basra completed her primary education at Portsmouth High School, Portsmouth and she wanted to pursue her higher education in criminal psychologist.
She never thought that she would make her career in acting.
She learn acting skills from Namit Kapoor’s School of Drama in Mumbai.
Geeta tied the knot with his boyfriend Harbhajan Singh on 29 October 2015 in her husband residence Jalandhar, Punjab in the presence of her relatives and celebrities.
After one year in 2016, they were blessed with his first baby daughter ‘Hinaya Heer Plaha’ born on 27 July 2016 in Portsmouth, Hampshire.

Career Path
She made her debut film with famous romantic actor Emraan Hashmi in the Bollywood film Dil Diya Hai, in which she play the role of Neha Mehra in 2006.
And her next film also with Emraan Hashmi in the thriller movie The Train as a Roma Kapoor, which directed by Hasnain Hyderabadwala in 2007.
Basra also got the opportunity to feature in the music video of famous singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Ghum Sum Ghum Sum along with Sukhshinder Shinda.
In 2016, she also made her appearance in the Punjabi film Lock as a Pammi along with star Gippy Grewal.
