Career Path
She started her filmy journey at the age 6 as a playback singer in film Chachi 420 for sang a song Chupadi Chupadi Chaachi in 1997.
In 2000, she acted for her debut movie in Hey Ram as a child artist which directed by her father Kamal Haasan which based on Historical Mahatma Gandhi Murder.
After long gap, she appeared in Tamil comedy film Saroja in 2008 and then she got offered in Bollywood film.
In Bollywood debut film Luck (2009), her name was suggested to director by her childhood friend Imran Khan but she was criticized by the audience due to her inappropriate performance in the film.
In 2011, she acted in Telugu debut film Anaganaga O Dheerudu and then she got some more films like Oh My Friend (2011), “Yevadu (2014)”, “Balupu (2013)”, “Katamarayudu (2017)” and Krack in 2020.
One of the science fiction and Martial art movie 7aum Arivu (2011)based on Bodhidhama gene character along with actor Suriya.
Sharuti also did many films in Tamil such as 3 (2012), Poojai (2014), Puli (2015) and Si3 (2017).
She also had done few short films including “devi” with co-stars Kajol, Neha Dhupia and Neena Kulkarni.

Controversy
In 2014, Shruti and actress Tamannaah Bhatia was visited at Chennai function, during the function in front of public and guest, they hugged and kissed each other without any ashamed. [2]
In 2014, during the Yevadu film shooting someone secretly captured her photo of her song due to this, she got so much frustrated and upset then she filed a complaint against the producers.
Shruti was faced huge problem, when once stranger person follow her and reached her Mumbai apartment and attacked on her but suddenly she shut the door without delaying and interestingly that she suppressed the attaker’s hand in her door and seriously injured him. She was born in well known filmy background family, her father Kamal Haasan is Tamilian and her mother belongs to Maharashtian father and Rajput mother.
She has uncle Charuhasan who is actor as well as lawyer and her cousin sisters Anu Hasan and Suhasini are also actress in Indian-south cinema. Suhasini is married to the famous actor Mani Ratnam.
She completed her primary education from Chennai then for higher studies she moved in Mumbai and enrolled in St.Andrew’s College and received the degree in Psychology.
During the school days, she acted in some theatre as a child artist by her father reference in Ashwaha Theatre Play.
In school days she did not to reveal her real identity, she used her fake name ‘Pooja Ramchandran’ because she did not want to live like a celebrity kid.
Later for music learning she shifted in US and joined the music classes at Hollywood Music School, California and after completed her course she came back in her residence Chennai.
