In 2017, Zanai Bhosle started working with India’s first transgender band titled ‘6 Pack,’ which was sponsored by Yash Raj Films. This band mainly uses hands, feet, boxes, buckets, bottles, tea packs, cups, spoons, and whistles as musical instruments. Zanai Bhosle’s first song that she recorded with this band is ‘Hil Pori Hila,’ which was earlier sung by Usha Mangeshkar in 1973. The video of this song featured 25 deprived children of Mumbai’s Salaam Bombay Foundation. Once, in an interview with a media house, Zanai Bhosle stated that each human community must be given an equal opportunity to outshine. She stated,
They (transgenders) are ill treated in the society. I hope my song makes a difference in the way transgenders are treated in our society. I feel everyone should be treated equally…after all we are human being.”
