Career Path
She started her career as a model and did various walked ramps also appeared in Lakme Fashion Week and then one of the best friends of her suggested the Miss India contest (who worked at the Times of India office in Hyderabad). Immediately she sent her portfolio for the contest and in which she got selected.
In 2000, she proved that she is no less than a beauty queen and became the second runner-up at the Femina Miss India 2000 contest and also grabbed the title of Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Avon and Miss Close-Up smile at the beauty pageant.
After that she was won the Miss Asia Pacific as an India representative in which brought India its third Position in the International beauty pageants in 2000. And Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World and Lara Dutta won the Miss Universe title.
Then she got huge fame from it and got the chance to appear in Babul Supriyo and Alka Yagnik song “Khoya Khoya Chand” in 2000. And the same year she also featured in the Tamil film En Swasa Kaatre.
Along with acting she also established her co-owned production house called Born Free Entertainment with her ex-husband Sahil Sangha, and produce many films like Love Breakups Zindagi (2001) and Bobby Jasoos (2014). She also produce web series Mind the Malhotras in 2019.
In December 2019, when her husband got separated, she launched her own production house One India Stories.
She made her debut film Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein in 2001 and then she had many hit films including “Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge (2002)”, “Dum (2003)”, “Tumsa Nahin Dekha – A Love Story (2004)”, “Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006)”.
In 2018, she also worked in biopic film Sanju as a Sanjay Dutta’s wife Manyata Dutt, which listed the highest grossing film on that year.

Controversy
In 2015, She was jumped in the war of words against BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi due to the inappropriate statement gave by the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat that conversion to Christianity was the main reason behind Mother Teresa’s service to the poor people.
In 2016, Maharashtra was faced the water shortage due to which, Dia tweeted,
“The irony of the times we live in: farmers commit suicide due to drought and people waste water to ‘play’ #Holi. Go ahead call me anti-Hindu”
And later, she had to face criticism and she had to apologize and said that
“As a citizen of India, I have an equal respect for all religions, festivals said customs that are celebrated in our country. It has never been my intention to hurt the sentiments of any individual or community. If in the event that my tweet has done so, I apologize unequivocally. That said, the fact remains that various parts of our country are experiencing a severe water shortage. According to a report I read in April last year, the drought in Maharashtra has hit over 90 lakh famers and counting. In October last year, the Maharashtra government officially declared a ‘drought-like condition’ in 14,708 of the state’s 43,000 villages.”
In 2019, When CAA protest was ongoing in India, she shared her expression regarding CAA and said that
“My Mother is a Hindu, my biological father was a Christian, my adopted father – a Muslim. In all official documents, my religion status stays blank. Does religion determine I am an Indian? It never did and I hope it never does. #One India #India”
But she did not go well with the netizens and she claiming that did not have any knowledge regarding the act and trying to act smart.
In 2020, when Dia named was raised in the Drugs Case during the investigation of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, by Narcotics Control Bureau in which claimed that drug peddlers took her name and maybe connection with in Sushant case. Then Dia Mirza cleared all the claims are baseless through her Twitter account
“I would like to strongly refute and categorically deny this news as being false, baseless and with mala fide intentions. Such frivolous reporting has a direct impact on my reputation being besmirched and is causing damage to my career which I have painstakingly built with years of hard work. I have never procured or consumed any narcotic or contraband substance of any form in my life. I intend to pursue the full extent of legal remedies available to me as a law abiding citizen of India. Thanks to my supporters for standing by me.”

Personal Life of Dia Mirza
She was born in Hyderabad as a Frank Handrich, her family root is German Catholic her father and her mother is Bengali Hindu.
Her parents were separated when she was just 4 years old due to which her mother was remarried to Ahmed Mirza who belongs to the Dakhni Muslim family background from Hyderabad.
Dia was adopted her step-father surname Mirza and she is the only child of her parents. She completed her schooling from almost three schools, along with school studies she also did a part-time job as a marketing executive at the multimedia firm of “Neeraj Multi-Media Studio”.
She also entered the modeling industry and worked for the brands such as Wall’s Ice-Cream, Emami, and Lipton and earned a monthly salary of around Rs. 5000.
After completing her schooling, her friend calling to her and gave the advice for the modeling competition.
But her mother wanted her to become a Lawyer and took admissions in Bangalore Law College for further studies but her step-father convinced her mother to let her participate in the Miss India Contest.
On 15th February 2021, she tied the knot with Mumbai-based businessman Vaibhav Rekhi in the presence of close guests and celebrities including Kajal Aggarwal and Varun Dhawan in her destination Mumbai.
